the staff tends to favor the locals and aren’t necessary friendly unless you live in magnolia. i’ve been going to nikos forever. it’s a shame! the food is great though!

Thanks to Szmania’s poor service and unsatisfying food I found Magnolia’s hidden gem and it was right in front of me the whole time! What a great little restaurant! Great service, food and prices. Hats off to you Nikos for providing such a great place to patronize. See you again very soon!

I moved away from my beautiful Magnolia 2 years ago (miss it everyday!) but still visit Niko’s regularly. It’s the BEST!!

The best little dinner in the Village! Food always hot and fresh. Not a lot of fanfare but consistently good. Thank you Nikos.

This family has been in the restaurant business for years in Seattle and in this place keep their prices affordable.
I have never had a bad meal there and you can get many vegetarian choices there.
The food is fresh, the place and cheery and clean, the help all seems happy, and they love the neighborhood where they have lived for many moons.
The mother “Mary” looks young enough to be Alex’s sister not mom and the family feeling comes through in their warmth. Excellent choice! They are BTW related to the Italian Place around the corner by the post office Luigis.

This place really lowers the bar for Greek food. There isn’t a single fresh ingredient. The meat isn’t carved off a spit like it should be and the feta is rubbery. Instead of processed components off the back of the Sysco truck, why can’t they focus on a few dishes with wholesome ingredients like good olive oil, sea salt, lamb and feta.
It’s a testament to the lack of quality takeout spots in our neighborhood, that this place gets so many nods. After having a five dollar lamb gyro at Aladdin’s Gyro-cery on the Ave or an incredible lamb burger* at Vios on Capitol Hill, you will never again think that this place is good.

There is no reason to leave Magnolia for good Greek take out.

The greek fries alone are enough to earn a 5 star rating from me.

The food is always delicious and the staff is first rate. The service is quick and efficient and I love eating outside on the picnic tables. My girls love to come here with me.

Great food. For some reason, the lady taking your order scares me. She’s nice and all, but seems to stare at people and make them uncomfortable. Really though, great food. Quick take out service.

They are asking people to avoid walking in or near areas with newly poured concrete and to please use the temporary walkways to get to Nikos Gyros.

Loved to read your blog. I would like to suggest you that traffic show most people read blogs on Mondays. So it should encourage bloggers to write new write ups over the weekend primarily.

This is great Greek food. You really get to try some traditional stuff if you watch the special board by the register. The quality of everything is tops, and the price-to-value point just right. Try the homemade loukaniko sausage for a real treat, and include a glass of Retsina wine with your meal.

Simply the best gyro in the city hidden away in quaint Magnolia.

Used to LOVE this place until recently they started charging for extra dressing….the lady says she always charges $1.00 for it even though it's free on the table…In 5 years I have never been charged for extra dressing, not that you really need it since they also have been giving you less salad in the container but till charging the same price….done with this place

would be nice if you updated these remarks. Last visit, Nikos had 3 points;blue, and that was for storing one knife improperly. We try to always implement safe standards, storage and procedures for our customers.

Yeah. How about you f*** off and stop posting this slanderous, moronic garbage. Please get a food handler permit and work in a real restaurant for at least a year before you start trying to analyze the online inspection reports. The wording of many of the items on those reports is very confusing. For example, the frequently-seen item regarding hand washing facilities could mean that the soap dispenser was empty at the moment the inspector checked it, while the wording could lead you to believe there isn't even a sink.
I'll concede that Niko's doesn't necessarily follow the rules by the book (nor do 99% of restaurants), but I eat there all the time and have never become ill or had a bad reaction to anything I've eaten there. The two most recent inspections had only 5 and 3 points, respectively, all blue.
So, Val, get a f***ing life and stop posting this trash.

I have to respectfully disagree with you, CJ. Yes, Aladdin's carves their meat off the spit, but when it's not busy over there, the meat is often dry and tough from being overcooked. Niko's presliced meat is always consistently juicy and delicious. In regard to “a single fresh ingredient,” I would disagree with that completely. All the vegetables in the salads and wraps are freshly sliced (unlike some other places), the Tzatziki and Hummus are clearly freshly made, the soups, Baklava, Souvlaki, and almost everything else on the menu are prepared freshly in the restaurant.
Please don't try to compare Niko's with Aladdin's. They are different beasts. Niko's has personal customer service and is family owned. Both of the Aladdin's “franchises” are financed and controlled by an overseas businessman.

Their Gyro salad with their dressing is terrific. When it's cold outside, the lemon/rice soup warms you inside and out. Great place for anyone and you can dine in, out or get it to go!
