CitySearch.com: …”Walked into the restaurant and stepped into one of the best Italian dining experiences in the Seattle area. I was greeted right away and seated after a ‘Ciao’ from the lady in the lovely dress at the front. Service started out fantastic and continued to be so throughout the night. The atmosphere of Mondello was the most warm and welcoming I have experienced within the city.”
SeattlePI.com: “…Dining at Mondello is like being embraced by a warm, vibrant Italian family.”

I love this restaurant! Great food, good service from friendly staff, and oh, so convenient. Sometimes a reservation helps at peak, popular times but walk ins at lunch works well. Love this place!

I loved this restaurant when it first opened, but the food seemed to go downhill after a few months. The last two times I have been there, the food was WAY too over-seasoned and over-sauced, unlike my earlier dining experiences experiences there. Although the staff/owners are VERY welcoming and charming, and I love the outdoor tables (Magnolia needs more), I will not go back because of the inconsistency of the food…

Mondello’s is fantastic for its homestyle cooking. I’ve been a couple times and have a great meal each time. Try going at lunch. Beautiful atmosphere reminds you that there is more to life than just working.

The staff is NOT at all friendly.

I’ve been a few times, lunch and dinner. The food is great but the service is inconsistent. The staff is MOODY…sometimes they’re happy to have a customer walk in and then at other times they treat you like you are invisible. My money is too valuable to waste on a not-so-pleasant dining experience.

Not the best bistro in Seattle, but the best in our neighborhood. It has its charms… The food tends to be a bit oily, and the service a bit European, but I’ve never had a bad meal…and have some really delicious dishes.

Food is O.K. Service is weird.

LOVED our dining experience! As a first time diner, I would definetly go back. Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere, excellent food. Salad’s are flavorful, well presented, with very ample portions. I wish we had something like this on the Eastside. We will be back!

I love the food and wine here. I usually save up to go here though. It’s all about the ambiance (sp?) with this place. The best thing I have ever tasted was the soup with the little meat balls (or lamb?) The service could be friendlier for a neighborhood restaurant, but I really love the look of the place and the food. Sometimes my son and I go there and sit outside sharing the Lasagna and soup

You've been spamming lots of forums on this blog to link your grill or whatever, and you have been providing no actual feedback on anything. I suspect you're just a spammer, and you've been reported.

Love this restaurant! We used to drive away from Magnolia for good Italian until we discovered this gem.

We're still learning about Italian food - the real stuff - in this country. Many of us were raised on American-Italian (spaghetti and meatballs and Chef Boyardee). The food of Italy, from north to south, and into Sicily (that's where the Bonjrada family comes from), is as different as it is in Boston, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Seattle. There is no such thing as “authentic Italian” any more than there is in this country. Northern Italy leans toward more butter and cream sauces, and as you move south, your find more oil, garlic, and even hot pepper dishes. In Sicily, you'll find a North African influences with ingredients like raisins and cinnamon in some dishes. Italian food is generally about fresh, simple dishes bursting with flavor, and Mondello (and its sister restaurant, Sorrentino on Queen Anne) bring us the real food of Italy.

Best carbonara I've ever tasted. Whenever my girlfriend and I are in town, we make a beeline for Mondello.

I will not eat at Mondello's. My daughter worked there the first summer it was open and they stiffed her on her last pay check. It my be “warm and welcoming” for customers but it sure isn't for the employees!

My wife and I moved to Magnolia a few months ago, and never expected to encounter such a hidden gem. Mondello serves incredible food, and the atmosphere is wonderful. We always take out of town guests there, and there are continually impressed. The Mushroom Ravioli are simply the best ravioli i've ever had (and I don't even like mushrooms!).

Mondello is a reward to your search of genuine Italian food, and a treat for your soul if you care about being treated as a dear customer by the owner and the very friendly staff.

My wife and I are fans of this truly Italian restaurant for the high quality of the food and the service. We believe we are very fortunate to have it in Magnolia.

Dined here three times, each time service ranged from disinterested to downright rude. Food is fine, but there are many much better italian restaurants in the city. At least for me, due to the rudeness of the staff , I will never eat here again.

After several years, I finally got around to going here … the food was great, and service was fine, though it was early and there weren’t many customers. Loved all the fresh herbs in the tomato sauce
Decent wine selection too. Live music started a bit before we left, and seemed pretty good.

Best lasagna in town! Service has always been good when I have been there.
