I understand during peak hours that buses need it but why on earth do you have to turn right at the next intersection on off hours? One of the right turns goes to one business and 2 (?) private houses. So on that block, you are truly exclusive if you get to take a right at that intersection!

And if cars will be parking there eventually during non-peak hours, why block people from driving on it during non-peak hours? The parked cars are going to mess up the bus traffic far more than moving cars, and at the same places!

After nearly a year since these remarkably confusing signs were posted, they haven’t become any clearer, and the city hasn’t changed them. I find it unbelievable that any city official thinks the signs convey their meaning with anything resembling clarity. I have had a lot of time to read and re-read these signs, but I always come to the same conclusion…they contradict each other.

When my brother asked a patrol officer last year what the signs meant, the officer instead asked my brother what he thought they meant. My brother said he thought drivers couldn’t use the curb lane except for right-hand turns during the posted hours, but at other times could. The officer replied “That sounds good to me(!)”

It took me 10 months to finally seek out comments on the web, and now that I’ve read the city’s relatively simple explanation of what the signs “mean,” I wonder why they can’t just say *that* with a sign?

Finally, even with clarity, I agree with others that the lane restriction represents poor city planning.
