Burglars steal puppies from Magnolia home

December 9th, 2008 · Comments

A Magnolia resident lost more than household items when someone broke into a home near 35th Ave West and Armour over the weekend.  The burglar also took off with two six week old Chihuahua puppies.

The puppies, one of whom is seen in this picture, are a male and female.

The victim says the house was broken into sometime between 5:00pm Friday (12/5) and noon on Saturday (12/6).  Along with the puppies, the burglars took a 19″ LCD TV, a Gateway Laptop, a small safe containing checks and credit cards, a Strato Caster guitar wtih a yellow strap and a Yamaha Acustic guitar.

They are hoping to get the word out about the pups so that the burglars can be caught if they try to sell them.  We checked and Chihuahua puppies for sale by breeders range in price from $150 to over $1,000 depending on their blood lines.

The owner of the puppies is offering a $100 reward for their return.  If anyone has information about this break in or the puppies, please contact the Seattle Police Department.

I admit that I also need more time in English class.

According to The Google, the girl with the puppy is a sixteen yr old asian female named Kim that attends Ballard High School.

She needs to spend more time in English class.

Interesting Craig's List post, since that is also a 6 week old puppy. No reputable breeder and no shelter is going to give away a puppy under the age of 8 weeks--it's actually illegal in California and other states to sell/give a puppy under 8 weeks. Many places won't let them go until 12 weeks. So, someone locally being given a 6 week old puppy that looks like the puppy in the photo seems very suspicious to me. I wonder if the puppies' owner has seen that post and is going to follow up in some way?

Jeeeez, so quick to judge..in the right enviorment they will be fine...did you ask if someone came in and was overseeing them?

I agree with CM. You don't leave 6 week old puppies alone from 5pm until noon. What was going on with that?

There has to be a special place in hell for people who steal puppies! I wonder if the burglars knew they were there or just grabbed them on the way out along with the other stuff?

I told my friend about this and she sent me a CL post from someone who might know the burglar.

It would suck if this woman didn't know her bf was stealing for her.

Hmm...there was a small gray safe dumped by the Burke-Gilman in the 5700 block of Seaview Ave NW on Sunday afternoon. It was pretty banged up and the door was missing - looked like it had taken some effort to get it open.

Oh, that's so sad! Ok, but I'll be the first to ask...why were the puppies left alone from 5pm Friday until noon on Saturday?
