Here is an interesting idea for your Saturday. The Washington Native Plant Society will celebrate Native Plant Appreciation Week with an exploration of Lawton Park on Magnolia’s east side. The walk will be led by a steward and highlights include a ravine, where a perennial stream seeps from the hillside to form a wetland. Green Seattle Partnership Stewards participated in a Seattle Parks drive to utilize live stake and bare root planting methods this winter in the area. If you are interested, meet at the street end of 25th Ave.W, south of W. Thurman Street at the southeast corner of the park at 2p.m. on Saturday (5/2).
