On Friday, June 19th, Windermere Real Estate will be closing their offices for their 25th annual Community Service Day. This year, the Magnolia office will do clean up in The Village and set up a collection site to benefit YouthCare. Donations of hygiene items can be dropped off at 3214 W McGraw Street #102.
YouthCare’s mission is to promote self sufficiency for homeless youth. YouthCare operates a street outreach team and seven transitional housing programs including the only emergency shelter in Seattle for children under 18. Due to an increase in the number of youth on the street, the demand is greater than ever.
If you would like to donate, the Windermere volunteers say the products most needed include deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, mouthwash, feminine hygiene items, shampoo and conditioner, razors, combs and hairbrushes, hand and body lotions and sunscreen. Travel sized products are best.
Each year Windermere Offices close one day a year to give back to the community. In Magnolia last year they focused on the core business district, weeding, sweeping, and edging the streets on McGraw from 32nd to 34th street. In past years they have cleaned beaches at Discovery Park and donated time with the parks department for various clean up projects.
This year we they are tying the service day together with a needy cause to benefit Youth Care. They expect to have 17 agents from the Windermere office volunteer their time and agents who are not able to attend the event will ontribute $50 to Youth Care.
