Proposal for new home on Perkins Lane

September 1st, 2009 · View Comments

The Seattle Department of Planning and Development is holding a meeting to review an application for a single-family structure on a 15,547 square foot lot where another home is already located.  The city describes this as an “environmentally critical area.”  Details here.

The application concerns the lot at 2801 Perkins Lane W. an area zoned as archaeological buffer area, conservancy recreation, fish & wildlife habitat area, flood prone, potential slide area, Shoreline habitat buffer, steep slope and single family/urban residential.

The public meeting is Tuesday, September 15, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Magnolia Library.

Every ten years or so some idiot wants to build on this slope. And they shove it through and then a few years later it starts to slide and they want to sue the city. It needs to be turned into park land so that NO ONE can ever build there again. Over and above the environmental stuff, its just too dangerous, and expensive to taxpayers when it does slide. Make 'em stop!!!
