Great. Maybe he can provide us with snow removal tips. Buh-bye, Mayor McCheese. Your reign is almost over.

I wonder if someone can point out those boarded up businesses in between Ace Hardware and US Bank to the mayor. Those places have been an eyesore forever, I am suspicious someone is using them as a front.

Why can't we get some actual business owners in there anyway? I heard the current owner is just squatting because it's cheaper than having a tenant somehow. If anyone has any more info on those spots, please share. It'd be nice to at least get feedback from the Chamber.

I looked into the abandoned/empty buildings near Ace when I was looking for retail space in the Village. The owners' office manager is in the brick building directly next to Ace. She told me he has plans to develop an office building there in the next couple of years. I agree it would be best for the Village if they were occupied with retail.

I say Hogwash. The owner(s) of theses buildings don't care at all about Magnolia Village. Rather than adding vibrancy to the community, these places have been abandoned and left to rot for over a decade now. Shame on them.

So, at what point can the city claim eminent domain? Seriously, there is NOTHING we as a community can do about these eyesores?

It's really too bad. The owners obviously don't have any pride in the neighborhood (or much good will towards the people who live here). I know people have tried to get leases on that property for new businesses and restaurants…to no avail.
