November 18th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Eco Encore, a Seattle-based nonprofit that re-sells donated books, CDs, DVDs and software online to raise funds for 14 environmental organization in the Pacific Northwest is having a Ton of Books used media drive in conjunction with the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen next month.

They are collecting the used books, CDs, DVDs and software at 27 locations in Seattle, including the Magnolia Community Center.  The goal is to collect 2,000 pounds, by Monday, November 30.  They are asking anyone who doesn’t want to see their unwanted or outdated media to end up in a landfill to donate.

OR donation your used media to Seattle Goodwill the money goes directly into their programming helping people learn to read, gain a GED, get a job or integrate into society.

Seattle Goodwill does more than most people know to help the community. You can call down there and ask to join one of their tours of their many programs. They take no tax dollars to fund their programs. Goodwill rocks!
