REI looking for volunteers

December 2nd, 2009 · No Comments

REI is doing a service project at Discovery Park this weekend and they are looking for volunteers from Magnolia to help. The REI Service Project will start on Saturday, 12/5 at 10a.m.  REI says this is a fun, family-friendly day of stewardship work in Seattle’s most unique urban park.

The work at the park will include removal of invasive species, mulching of previously planted natives, and general site maintenance. All volunteers will be provided with snacks, drinks, and a fun thank-you gift from REI.  You should dress for the elements, sturdy shoes and long pants are mandatory because you can expect to get dirty. Gloves and tools will be provided by Discovery Park.

Volunteers should register in advance by emailing Todd Erskine @ terskin@rei.com.
