The suspect in a North Seattle beating could not keep his mouth shut, and he was arrested over the weekend after bragging about his crime at a party in Magnolia, police say. The one-armed man charged with beating a North Seattle landlord was arrested the same day he was featured as a wanted criminal in a seattlepi.com story and on “Washington’s Most Wanted.”
Acccording to seattlepi.com, Sean Kelley, 22, was found at a Magnolia party Friday night. A member of the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Task Force handling the case told KCPQ/13 that Kelley was bragging that he was going to be on TV. He was wanted by authorities after he skipped a court appearance related to the January landlord beating. A tip to CrimeStoppers of Puget Sound helped capture Kelley, who has been charged with second-degree assault. The Seattle Police Gang Unit was involved with tracking Kelley, and about three dozen people allegedly scattered when authorities arrived at the Magnolia home, according to an incident report.
Kelley was booked into King County Jail. Police say he attacked a 65 year old landlord who suffered a fractures to his face and may have impaired vision as a result of the attack. Kelley, who has a juvenile criminal history, lost his right arm in a North Seattle auto collision.
