Magnolia’s newest restaurant is holding a grand opening event next weekend (3/19 & 3/20) from 10a.m. to 4p.m.
Melt Café (2818 Thorndyke Ave West) serves up what they call healthy, homemade fare with ingredients like Macrina bread, grass fed beef and meats roasted on-site. The menu includes sandwiches, homemade soups, beef chili and fresh baked goods.
Food can be eaten at the restaurant (they have about 20 seats indoors) or picked up to go.
The restaurant opened just ten weeks ago and owner Teresa Schulz is inviting everyone to come check them out. The grand opening will include free baked goods, food specials and activities for children. There will also be door prizes and drawings, including the chance to win lunch every week for a year.
Schulz and consulting partner Renee O’Brien teamed up their combined 40 years of entrepreneurial experience and love for cooking and entertaining to bring Melt Cafe to life. They dreamed of owning a local corner restaurant with homemade food served in a warm environment. “The response so far has been great, we already have a ton of regulars. We are looking forward to this spring and summer when we can set up the patio for lots of outside dining,” says Schulz.
Melt Café is a Magnolia Little League sponsor and will be collecting donations for the kids throughout the grand opening event.
