Magnolia Voice reader Sylvia came upon this scene in Discovery Park.

She said there was lots of trash and what looked to be the aftermath of a big party.

Sylvia took these pictures on Tuesday and describes the location to be in the meadow between the sandy area by the bluff and the grove of Douglas Firs.

    Blame the homeless!

I wonder if those were the same folks who, on Sumday, stopped along side the garbage can along Thorndyke Park and dumped on the ground a big trash bag and other debris, most of it beer cans. They pulled away before we could get a plate number.

    …sing along now….School’s out for summmmmer…

All teenagers need to be sent to public service camps for the summer!!!!

  • Christine

It’s probably the same kids that broke into the abandoned school on 28th

We see a bunch of kids go into the park in the late evening periodically. Guess we’ll call the cops as soon as we see them, instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt when they aren’t being obnoxious where we can hear them.

I jogged right by these people. It was a group of all girls. It struck me as a summer day camp. They were all various teen-aged type people – some younger “campers” and some older “counselor” types. They had bubble hoops, a kiddy pool and looked like they were semi-organized.

How about we spend that 1.1 million on combating this instead of airplane noise? One of these is an inanimate object, while the other is totally within control.

well I use to live in Magnoila for 14 years came over there to visit over the weekend the village looks so dirty there was trash laying around and lots of weeds it just looked dirty like the pots infront of Tullys filled with weeds and the Serendipity side of building looked messy when is Magnolia clean up day make it today

  • Mad Men

I believe the culprits were Don and Betty Draper.

  • Jen

Hey Mad Men: I happen to watch that show and you are hilarious! On another note, I live across the street from Discovery Park, and at 1am this morning, I heard loud chanting and screaming, like a bunch of kids were partying up there. The police need to patrol up there a lot more…. or maybe some sort of neighborhood (park)watch type of deal. This type of thing is just nonsensical.

  • Val

I don’t think a park watch would be legal, since they’re closed to the public after 11pm. Maybe we could train the raccoons to attack anyone with alcohol instead :-)
