A number of you have asked about the construction work at Ursula Judkins Park near the top of the Magnolia Bridge. Magnolia Voice reader Gene got the details and sent in this photo.
According to one of the workers I spoke with at the Ursula Judkins Viewpoint Park yesterday, the FAA is demolishing the small white transmitter building at the west end of Magnolia Bridge and replacing it with a slightly larger green building. He said it would not be any taller than the old one and will be installed over the next couple of weeks. If and when the Magnolia Bridge is replaced with a new bridge, the FAA building likely will have to be removed (again). The transmitter is an electronic guidance system for planes landing at Boeing Field.
Thanks Gene!
