Great food. Spouse and I tried the roasted chicken salad sandwich, chili, butternut squash soup, coleslaw and French press coffee. Service was very quick and friendly. We loved it and for sure will be repeat customers.
Tried the Wheeler Street Kitchen today for lunch. Ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich and the wife had the Tomato Basil Soup. My sandwich was very small and dry. The soup wasn’t any better than we’ve had out of a can. Also over priced. Will not be back.
We are so thrilled to have another option for lunch! I’ve eaten at the Wheeler Street Kitchen about 5 times already and am addicted to their chicken salad sandwich! Service is fast, food is delicious and the location is so convenient!
My 94 year old friende and I had a lunch of Chowder soup and Ceasar salad with two Pork sandwiches. Portions were generous, service fast and courteous, and I got to use their WIFI to show my friend a slide show of her great-grand-daughter. We will be back for sure.
Love, love, love this place. What a great addition to the Village. I’ve tried soup, salads and sandwiches. All excellent. Working my way through the whole menu. Warm and inviting atmosphere and a great staff make this my go to place when I am hungry for some good, well priced food.
Had a business lunch there recently. I ordered the pot roast w/ fresh greens because I am gluten free and couldn’t have a sandwich. Also got a bowl of their lovely soup. It was a treat! I’ll be posting a short review on my website. They were knowledgeable and accommodating of my food allergies. I would give them 4 stars if I could figure out how to make the ratings work on Magnolia Voice blog.
This place is fabulous. I cannot get enough of the chicken salad sandwich (served on soft bread with a crusty crust that has just the right amount of chewiness) and the chicken thai soup. Oh and the chili, yum! The prices are reasonable, the portion size just right, and the serve is quick and friendly. Truly a great addition to the community…now if only they served brunch on the weekends.
If I were to open a sandwich shop, I would AT LEAST make it as good as Pesos in Fremont and Ballard in order to live with myself. Have you ever had a sandwich from Pesos? If you have, you know what I’m talking about. Sort of puts a damper on eating at any other sandwich shop.
Were is Pesos? I tried to Google them and only found a Mexican Restaurant by that name. Could you possible be talking about Paseo? If so, trying to match or beat their sandwiches is near impossible for pork. The Brisket at the Wheeler Street Kitchen was very good but very expensive as well.
Its Paseo… Not Mexican Currency.(Pesos)
This week I’m on break in Pattaya there’s thirty days left my next stop will be Koh Samui then we’ll be flying back home which will be a nineteen hour trip including a eight hour stopover. I’m twenty five years old and have already made eight visits to Jomtien.
I found your entry interesting do I’ve added a Trackback to it on my weblog
Thanks for posting this.
Hi and thanks for the downright post. I’ve been searching nearby for this web site following being referred to them from a colleague and was thrilled when i was able to locate it following searching for lengthy time. Suitable wanted to commentary to demonstrate my admiration for your website because it is really inspiring to do, and quite a few writers usually do not secure acknowledgment they deserve. I’m confident I’ll be back and will eventually send my buddies
Only had lunch one day. Glad to see they have beer and wine now to go with what appears to be really good food. Only problem for us is they close too early.
how does one get ideas for your special content? because i find your articles very engaging everytime i visit your blog.
Best burger I’ve had in a while. Will definitely be going back. A great edition to the neighborhood. Really, really odd that they chose that spot though. Wish they had a better location–being in an alley across from Serendipity’s dumpsters isn’t all that attractive. Should have taken over the old Magnolia Tavern.
Wheeler Street is fantastic! Such a gem for Magnolia, the food is really good quality.
Stopped in for lunch the other day and had a great roast beef sandwich. I’ll definately be back to try the other items on the menu. The write up in the Seattle Times Food Section ( 3 4 11) will only help them. Granted, being on an alley is a bit of an obsure location, but who cares if the food and the service is right on the money. They’ll do well and I wish them continued success. They are Magnolia people and they serve us, their community. All the best,
FINALLY had the chance to experience Wheeler today – on a busy Saturday. It was worth the wait. Yum. Had the beef brisket sandwich and it was delicious. I’m going to tackle the rest of the menu. Pssst…Serendipity…this is how you run a restaurant.
Fantastic food! Love the specials. Greg and Michael cook up some wonderful creations. Highly recommend! Also, a great scratch mac and cheese and grilled cheese for the kids.
I went there when it first opened and although I loved the flavors of the food- unique and robust, I really did not like the interior. I hope they have changed it up because it was cold, and unwelcoming. With the hard floors, tile on walls, wooden chairs, I just didn’t want to linger. Also magnolia is kid town and I hope they have added kid friendly milk and juices. Owners think comfortable places to eat comfort food. I will have to check back to see if its improved since the food was great.
Hey thanks for your comments. I am glad you liked the food and hope when you come back you find the atmosphere a bit more welcoming to your way of thinking. You will also be happy to know we do have milk and chocolate milk AND are even adding a kids menu. Hope to see you soon and please introduce yourself when you come in!
Come in for our new “Happy Alley Hour” Mon-Fri 3:30-5:50 for $1 off drinks and special plates. This weeks features a Bruschetta, Classic Sliders and a Red Pepper Hummus plate. (Yes the alley part is a reference to where we are located.) Cheers!

2 of us just had the BEST lunch. Burger was perfect, salad pre-tossed and fresh. Meatloaf sandwich excellent and slaw w/surprise ingredient yummy. The best meal on the hill in…ages. Very friendly owners, some refreshingly talented cooks!!, nice art and oh so warm when it’s cold outside. Way to go Carrie, Greg & Gabby!!! We’ll be back! :)
