Many without power in Magnolia

December 18th, 2010 · 3 Comments

The Seattle City Light map says it all – many in Magnolia are without power.

High winds have knocked out power for nearly 10,000 people in Magnolia and Queen Anne. The exact cause of the outage in Magnolia is unknown and the estimated time for restoring power is “pending,” according to the map.

I got my power back at around 8:30. What was weird is that the power going up and down Bertona was never lost but the blocks on either side were down.

Yay for SCL for quick response!

Didn’t lose power (this time) but I didn’t know about that map til now! course, it won’t do me much good when MY power is out.

Thank you for posting this. Sadly the target audience for the most part had no internet when their modems went down…

These outages are good in one way…they make us think about food/water/heat in case the power went down for a long time like it does for some of our suburban neighbors. Our society with its fragile power and food/goods distribution system is only one big disaster away from the middle ages. Worse…those people knew how to live like that..we don’t.

A BIG thank you to Seattle City Light for taking care of this within 2 hours!!!! THANX!!!
