Police activity on east side of Magnolia

April 21st, 2011 · 3 Comments

We heard from a number of readers that Seattle Police blocked off the area near Boston and Thorndyke at around 4p.m. this afternoon.

One reader reported there were eight police cars blocking the intersections in the area.  Another reader told us the police said they had ‘a man with a gun’ in the area and that he was in custody.  We also heard reports that there were unmarked police cars involved.

We are attempting to get information about the incident from SPD but if anyone has any information, let us know in comments or via email at tips@magnoliavoice.com.

I saw this going on at about 4 pm when the 33 bus passed by the area.

This happened right in front of our house. We still don’t know what went on as the police wouldn’t tell us. There was a SWAT van. A woman crying hysterically was in a parked car, and was surrounded by cops.

I’m a neighbor. This was a domestic incident between spouses/domestic partners, NOT an intruder or home invasion.
