I wanted to inform all about a new car crime that I experienced north slope of QA. Someone removed and stole my rear license plate and replaced it with a different stolen one from a Pierce county vehicle (according to SPD). The only reason I noticed “the switch” was because they also swapped the cover which was a different color than mine. Just a heads up to check your plates. I was told by the 911 operator and the officer who made the report that if I’d been pulled over with the stolen plate on my car it could have been at gunpoint (um, yikes). Hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else but keep your eyes peeled.
