Grand opening of Magnolia Manor Park P-Patch this weekend (April 14th)
Posted on April 4th, 2013 by Sara
The first P-Patch in Magnolia is open for business. A part of the larger Magnolia Manor Park, work on the garden began last November with moving the fence, and grading the area. Since January, gardeners-to-be have been diligently working two days each weekend to build the shed; move in compost, leaves, and topsoil; lay out pathways, build two huge retaining walls; and install the irrigation system. The area is finally ready for more than 50 enthusiastic gardeners to get down and dirty, and take ownership of their plots.
Following the formal ceremony at 1 pm, there will be refreshments and tours of the garden tours. They will have cedar bird houses for sale ($15 each, or $40 for 4), seedlings for purchase, and an observation bee hive to enjoy viewing.
The celebration is Sunday, April 14, at 1 pm at 3480 27th Ave W., just north of W. Bertona
