Two friends report being?robbed at gunpoint by a large group of teens?at?Ella Bailey Park earlier this week.? According to?a police report, they and another friend were talking to some “females” shortly after midnight?on Tuesday August 13th, when the assault began:

  1. Are you kidding me?? What is going on in our nice area? Gangs now? Maybe the SPD needs to meet with civic and neighbourhood leaders to let others aware of these crimes I am reading about on this blog. I hardly see any coverage by the SEattle media outside of this blog if indeed all this crime is taking place. Please do not let Magnolia become the next White Center or South Seattle.

  2. In general, only the most brutal crimes tend to be reported. Just take a look at the Seattle Crime Map and you will see a LOT of activity of which less than 5% is “reported”. Regardless, our little “island” has been discovered by Da Hood and we are seen as “fat” PC sheep too timid to fight back or take action. So let’s welcome our new “visitors” with……

    1. discovered by “Da Hood”? It’s not like Magnolia is uncharted territory. You are making up a false and dramatized narrative for this isolated incident. “fat PC sheep too timid to fight back”? This isn’t I’m Gonna Git You Sucka. Have fun “fighting back” and end up on the news as the next Zimmerman. Please, do us all a favor and leave the vigilante justice out of it.

      1. Oh my…a police sheep. How do you know I wasn’t going to finish my sentence with “open arms”? Did you know that some of my best friends are….

        1. Too snarky to bear. I agree with Veritas…so many people eager to take on someone they perceive as the enemy and then getting their red necks caught out there as they take vigilante justice into their own hands. Or overweight posters who just sit and write snarky comments on their computers, safe in their (or their parents’) basements. Who the h**l can complain if they are out after midnight on a secluded beach with valuables and a bunch of bored, bored kids, prey for unemployed/lower income bored bored other kids. OK, that was a stereotyupe too. Maybe they are employed and just want the Gucci belt.
Wish they were working on their admitance statements to UW or ideas for helping the community or their future Masters thesis. I suspect that is not the same crowd. Magnolia isn’t the next White Center. People who go into situations where bad things happen…uh…have bad things happen.

  3. I can’t help but wonder if ths maybe related to the ‘bike incident’ mentioned a few weeks ago?

    1. I was thinking the same but there was no prefacing story about growing up in a gated home with servants bringing you sandwiches and your bike and mommy childhood disappearing. I believe this incident to be truer than the bike incident but who the hell knows any more. I am still getting a kick out of the peeping tom at the tennis courts!

  4. Rampart
Perhaps my dark skinned acquaintances could educate you on what a bigot is.
I would rather have any color of the rainbow live in our “slice of American pie” than have a bigot like you live here.

  5. My sarcasm meter doesn’t seem to be working right at the moment, but…going by your skin color chart I might not be allowed access to my house. Oh, and my profile pic may be a bit misleading…

  6. Victim: Officer, I lost my Gucci and my Versace, but the bastards didn’t get my Prada!
    Officer: You almost got killed…

  7. NEWS FLASH: Hanging out in a closed public park at night in a major american city can sometimes be dangerous, especially if you are wearing designer clothes. It’s called getting mugged, and it’s not a new phenomenon.

  8. This designer mugging and the little boys bikes being snatched are made up crimes and the tennis upskirt peeping tom problem in Magnolia is real. Why you ask? Because at Starbucks in the village this afternoon I saw two MILF’s sipping iced latte in short white tennis skirts with their legs uncrossed for all to see. I saw. They wear these things on purpose to get mens reactions.

    1. BAN SHORT TENNIS SKIRTS! Maybe we can get a map going of where these skirts have been seen and see if there is some kind of pattern developing. At least these skirts dont hang out in the parks or courts after midnite….or do they?

    2. Do you have video evidence of these horrific displays? If so, please post it here for all to see!

  9. Obviously, Magnolia has failed to get with our Mayor’s crime fighting strategy. Just post No Guns Allowed posters around Magnolia and paint 15 miles of sharrows on busy streets and all crime will disappear.

  10. So, with the prolific bank robbing, home break-ins and now gang beatings, is it time for Magnolia to warrant a little police protection? I can enjoy this lifestyle in Tacoma for half the price. How ’bout more than one cop allotted for Queen Anne and Magnolia between 4-8AM? It’s gonna get worse…

    1. While I understand your point. Tacoma has a relatively low crime rate. In fact, Tacoma is not even in the top 10 highest crime rate cities in Washington (#5 is Spokane and #6 is Everett).

So yes, moving Tacoma would reduce your cost of living but would not increase your chances of being a victim of crime.

Everett on the other hand, has a real crime problem.

    2. Get to know your neighbors is probably the best solution. Neighbours watching neighbours. Organize block or house parties to get to know your neighbours. Toss in some herons and short tennis skirts for viewing and you should get their attention.

        1. Why are they at the park after midnight? We shouldn’t have to pay for security when the park is closed..

  11. I found the missing red Nike Air Jordan shoe. I contacted the police last night in hopes it would be the quickest way to find its rightful owner. Unfortunately the officer said he wouldn’t be able to contact the victim but would place it in their lost and found. If anyone knows the individual, please forward this along. I’m sure he’d appreciate having it back. Thanks in advance!
    Cheryl

    1. Thats LAME! Why cant the officer contact the victim? Magnolia needs better officers. Better officers equals less crime.

  12. Hi, would the person who found the red Nike Air Jordan shoe, please drop it off at the Magnolia Community Center. The center is open 1:30 – 8:00 pm..Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

  13. Maybe they can put up gates at the 3 major entrances? The idea seems to frustrate people going to the beach. Oh, and ask the peeping Tom to put a blindfold on so he can’t see the tennis skirts. I’m just the kind of brilliant mind our city needs, write me in on the ballot this fall.
