Ask anyone what our?city’s bird is, and you might hear “SEAHAWK!” But did you know that?Seattle’s official bird is the Great Blue Heron?
Meet up at?Project HeronWatch’s open house?this weekend and learn about our neighbor and ways you can help save this beauty. Hosted by Heron Habitat Helpers from 11:00 am – 2 pm at the Discovery Park Visitor Center, guests?can share ideas and see?a proposed live streaming heron display.? They are promising free family?fun (like an actual Great Blue Heron wing, and?webcam footage of baby heron chicks), as you explore interactive stations from:

? Heron Habitat Helpers

? Seattle Parks & Recreation

? Green Seattle Partnership

? Groundswell NW

? The Burke Museum

? U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
At noon, biologist Chris Anderson, (from the?WA Dept. of Fish & Wildlife) will give a presentation.? Click here for more info.
