Szmania?s sold

Big news in the Village- Szmania’s is changing hands:

Dear friends and wonderful customers:

We knew this day would eventually arrive, but it?s still hard to fathom and even harder to discuss.? SZMANIA?S Restaurant has been sold and the final date that Ludger and I will be owners is March 31st.? The great news is that it was purchased by a former SZMANIA?S chef and his wife, Michael & Carolyn Rogozinski.? They are wonderful people with similar backgrounds as us and we only wish them the best of success in the future.? They have signed a long lease so it will continue to be a delicious neighborhood and destination restaurant with many new features that new owners with bright ideas and energy bring to the table.? The staff will remain with the new restaurant so you will continue to see friendly faces all around.

That being said, this will be a formidable transition for Ludger and I.? Since we?ve been married, we?ve known nothing else; our children were raised here and our circle of friends blossomed in this restaurant.? As many of you know we purchased a farm in Cashmere in 2007 and planted a vineyard of Syrah, Sangiovese and Merlot grapes which are now producing delicious wines.? Then last summer we acquired a fantastic bed and breakfast and event venue called Warm Springs Inn & Winery on the Wenatchee River which we?ve been remodeling and are ready to open.? Please come see us anytime at our newest addition to the hospitality empire J that we have loved to nurture for the last 24 years.

If time permits, please stop by the restaurant to say goodbye as we plan to be there every day through the end of March.? And most definitely book a relaxing weekend away at the Warm Springs Inn to enjoy a bottle of our own Brender Canyon Vineyard wine and some of Ludger?s signature foods.? Until then, thank you for 24 years of incredible friendship and loyal customer dedication.? You are the best!? We will miss you more than you know.

Auf wiedersehen and many, many thanks…
