King County Wastewater Treatment Division and City of Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation invite the Magnolia community and Discovery Park users to join us at the Discovery Park roundabout on Saturday, June 28 anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. You can take tours of the beach area with King County staff and Discovery Park Naturalists and learn about:
A trial enforcement period during summer 2014 to address problems with fires, illegal parking, and trespassing
- The Master Plan established for Discovery Park
- Management of parking and beach areas
- Maintaining natural areas around West Point Treatment Plant
- Fire safety and public safety awareness for park users
To attend this event, you can access the beach area by riding a shuttle from the Visitor Center from 10:45 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. For people with disabled parking placards, or those with children under six years of age, parking permits must be obtained at the Visitor Center.
