If it seems like the end of the world on Magnolia this afternoon, don’t worry.

Several law enforcement and emergency agencies, including?SPD, King County Sheriff?s Office, Washington State Patrol,?Coast Guard, FBI, U.S. Customs?and King County Medic One, will be performing an active shooter and hostage drill in Elliott Bay this afternoon?between Harbor Island and Discovery Park from 4-11 p.m.

It will also, according to the Seattle Times,?include two helicopters and possibly an out-of-service ferry or a container ship, and smaller Coast Guard and State Patrol boats:

Sheriff?s Sgt. Jason Houck said multiagency drills are staged roughly every year. When we can get all these entities together ? it?s when the stars align,? he said. Houck said the sheriff?s SWAT team and marine units train for various scenarios throughout the year, but not on this scale.

Expect Pier 5 on Harbor Island?to be closed to the public during the drill.? If you are in the area,?you might see people rappelling out of helicopters and other action.
