    Dear Neighbors,
Please help us keep our pets and kids safe by recognizing that our street has a 25 mph speed limit. I just watched two folks in SUV's cruising through at 35 - you probably wouldn't like that on your street.

We happen to be a convenient cut-through from Viewmont to the little bridge, which is fine. Just please use the same caution and courtesy you would expect on your street. And, if you're running late, use the boulevard.
    thanks!

Unfortunately the folks you are targeting with this post will never see it...although I know it can make one feel better to try and get the message out.

Your best efforts will be placed in preventive measures to ensure you kids/pets are not wandering into the street. Or simply place a temporary sign out for a few days to make the locals aware.

    Good luck, stay safe.

I see people speeding up and down 28th and W. Boston all of the time. Where are the police when you need them?

You can contact SDP through their online contact form, directing your concern to the SPD Traffic Enforcement Unit: http://www.seattle.gov/police/contact_form.htm
You can also call their non emergency number at 206.625.5011

Let them know your concerns and the location and time you see the problem and they will very likely send a couple guys out there during the week and check it out.

I had a buddy in that unit years ago, and he said they always counted on tips from citizens on where they needed additional enforcement of traffic safety.

I drive 28th Ave. W. all the time, and often use W. Boston to get over to Thorndyke. I don't see a lot of speeding there. Remember, 28th is an arterial with a 30 mph speed limit. On Blaine, I wonder if intersection planters at 35th and 36th would help. Maybe you could talk to neighbors and see if people agree, and then approach the city.
