There were so many great costumes and cute kids (and clever adults!) that we wanted to share more Halloween pictures from the Magnolia Village trick or treat event.  This one was sent in by Magnolia Voice reader Max.

Zillow, an online real estate information service, has ranked Magnolia third in the top five best Seattle neighborhoods for candy gathering on Halloween night in their first ever Zillow Trick-or-Treat Housing Index.

“The Index names the top five Seattle neighborhoods to trick-or-treat using four equally weighted data variables: Zillow Home Value Index, population density, Walk Score, and local crime data,” Zillow PR rep Whitney Tyner says.

Halloween is the best time of year for many kids (and grown ups too) and you have lots of options in Magnolia.  First up is the Halloween Carnival at the Magnolia Community Center on Friday, October 23 from 6 to 7:30p.m.  The event is free for kids up to 12 years old who bring a non-perishable food item to support Northwest Harvest.  There will be games, treats, a cupcake walk, pumpkin decorating and a donut dangle.  The costume contest will start at 7p.m. and this year there will also be pumpkin decorating for toddlers starting at 5:30p.m.  If you need more information, call the Community Center at 206-386-4235. 

 On Friday, October 30 the third annual Haunted House sponsored by the  Magnolia Mission Youth will be set up at the Magnolia Lutheran Church 2414 31st Ave West.  The haunted house is open from 4 to 6:30p.m.

The big Trick or Treat event in The Village is also on Friday, October 30 from 4 to 6p.m. on McGraw street.  The street will be closed to traffic so kids can safely collect lots of candy from Magnolia businesses.

The merchants in The Village welcomed trick or treaters of all ages last night with candy and fun for everyone. The weather was not too bad and it did not keep the crowds from converging for Halloween treats. Sure, lots of people have pumpkins in their yards for Halloween but how many people have a yard that is nothing but pumpkins? 

This house on 29th and Emerson is filled with pumpkins big and small and some nice decorations too.  They have had their pumpkin yard for as long as we can remember. 

Kids love it and the pumpkin growers have been known to offer up a pumpkin or two to visitors who stop by to admire the oversized gourds.

Another well known Halloween landmark is this house at 34th ave West and Dravus.  It is always filled with decorations and lots of lights.
