Mayor mingles in Magnolia

October 17th, 2009 by Abner

Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels did a walking tour of Magnolia this morning.  This is the third time during his tenure that he has made the trek to The Village.

He visited with local business owners in The Village, stopping at Vixen to chat with owner Coureane Napolitano.

At Serendipity he met with owners Jennifer Young & Nanette Baker and asked them about their business.

Mike Smith, owner of Leroux Clothing store, led the mayor on his tour.

The group stopped at Seattle Pie Company where the Mayor talked with owners Alyssa and Patrick Lewis.  The bakery cafe hosted the reception following the tour with Magnolia Chamber members and Magnolia Community Club board members to discuss neighborhood issues.

Mayor Nickels lost his bid for a third term in the primary and leaves office at the end of this year.

New florist coming to The Village

November 29th, 2008 by Gladys

There’s a new business moving into the Magnolia Village next week.  Katy’s Daisies is located next door to Ichiro at 2436 34th Ave W.  The sign on the door says it will open on December 1.  Katy’s Daisies is a flower shop in the space that used to house a catering business.  We will check it out when they open their doors just in time for the holidays.
