This past weekend, The Magnolia Soccer Club?s Boy U-16 team, the Mudsharks, won the Seattle Youth Soccer Association?s City Tournament up in Shoreline. The Boys From the Bluff shut out a very tough Ballard Bolt team 2-0 to take the Championship. The Mudsharks, led by their tri-captains, Nolan Baker, Josh Martin and Austin Keaton went 5-1 over the course of the two week tournament, losing their first game in a penalty kick shootout, then coming through the loser?s bracket to sweep to their way to the championship on their way, they avenged their first round loss and beat the first, second and third place teams to win the title. In the championship game, the boys took advantage of first half goals by Devon Winterer and Danny Banco. To defeat a very game Ballard team. The win capped off a great season as the Mudsharks went 8-2.
